Supported by DRISHTI CPS under Seed Support Scheme, Zwilling Labs Private Limited is transforming the manufacturing industry with its Unified Digital Twin Platform. This innovative platform uses IoT technology to provide manufacturers with real-time machine monitoring and remote factory control. It addresses critical challenges in manufacturing by optimizing production schedules, minimizing idle machine time, and improving overall operational efficiency. These features help manufacturers lower energy consumption, reduce excess inventory, and minimize material overproduction, supporting sustainable and cost-effective production processes.
The platform also streamlines machine management, enabling manufacturers to decrease their environmental footprint by reducing raw material and energy usage. Zwilling Labs’ solution ensures better resource utilization, making manufacturing operations smarter and more sustainable. The project began with research at IIT Bombay, focusing on building a disruptive digitalization solution for manufacturers in collaboration with government and industry stakeholders. Early prototypes were developed using data and machinery from NCAIR and MMMF labs. These prototypes featured AI-driven dashboards for live analytics, predictive maintenance models, and advanced deep learning algorithms for analyzing camera feeds.
One of the standout innovations was the creation of an AI-based chatbot that assists machine operators by analyzing manuals and documents, enabling faster issue resolution and operational efficiency. Positive feedback from clients interested in adopting the platform validated its potential to address market needs effectively. With DRISHTI CPS’ support, Zwilling Labs successfully completed a Proof of Concept (PoC) for JSW Paints. The platform extracted data from paint dispensing machines and transmitted it to the cloud using specialized hardware and software.
Building on this success, a pilot project is currently underway with Icon Labs to create a digital twin for their laboratory in Navi Mumbai. Future plans include offering the digital twin platform as a subscription model bundled with laboratory equipment sold by Icon Labs, opening new revenue streams and partnerships. Zwilling Labs is also developing standardized modules, such as HR Boost and Process Boost, to further enhance platform capabilities. By establishing OEM partnerships and targeted marketing strategies, the company aims to expand its footprint in the manufacturing ecosystem.
